Activate plug-ins on inactive channels in Logic Pro
If the “Only load plug-ins needed for project playback” setting is enabled, any channel strip not in the playback signal flow will be inactive, and its plug-ins will be dimmed. In order to hear the plug-ins, first you need to activate the channel. To activate an inactive channel in Logic Pro, do one of the following:
Add a plug-in to an inactive channel strip.
Click a plug-in on an inactive channel strip.
Click a plug-in slot on an inactive channel strip and select “Activate Plug-ins” from the pop-up menu.
