Use VoiceOver in the Browser

You can use VoiceOver gestures to preview items in the Browser, add them to your favorites, and add them to your project. In order to avoid navigating through long lists of filters and other items, you can use the grouped navigation style.

Listen to previews

You can listen to previews in the Browser for audio and instrument patches, Apple Loops, samples, and contents of sample folders.

  1. Navigate to the item you want to preview.

  2. Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Preview,” then double-tap.

  3. Double-tap again to stop the preview.

Create a new track with a selected audio or instrument patch

  1. Navigate to the audio or instrument patch in the Browser.

  2. Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “New Track with Patch,” then double-tap.

    A new track is created containing the audio or instrument patch.

Add a loop or sample at the playhead position in the Tracks area

  1. Position the playhead at the point in the ruler where you want to add the loop or sample.

  2. Create or select a track where you want to add the loop or sample.

    Note: You can add audio loops and samples only to audio tracks. You can add MIDI, pattern, and Session Player loops only to software instrument tracks.

  3. At the top level of the Browser, navigate to Loops or Samples, depending on what you want to add to the Tracks area, then navigate to the loop or sample you want to add.

  4. Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Place Loop at Playhead” or “Place Sample at Playhead,” then double-tap.

Add an item in the Browser to favorites

  1. In the Browser, navigate to the item you want to add to your favorites.

  2. Turn the VoiceOver rotor to Actions, swipe up or down until you hear “Add to Favorites,” then double-tap.

To access your favorites, navigate to Favorites at the top level of the Browser.

To remove an item from your favorites, swipe up or down until you hear “Remove from Favorites,” then double-tap.
