Create a Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos project from a Dolby Atmos ADM BWF master file in Logic Pro for Mac
You can create a new Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos project by importing an existing Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos mix that was exported as an uncompressed Dolby Atmos ADM BWF master file. ADM BWF is a standard file type (created on any Dolby Atmos–capable DAW) that can be used for special workflows when mastering Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos projects or exchanging Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos projects in a collaboration environment. It’s also the file type that’s used when you send a Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos mix to Apple Music (or other streaming or optical media mastering and encoding services).
Logic Pro creates a new Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos project from the Dolby Atmos ADM BWF file with the following configuration:
All bed tracks of the original Dolby Atmos mix are merged into a single bed track.
The surround format of the original project is used in the new project.
Logic Pro creates a mono audio track for each object of the original mix with the name of the bed track.
Stereo object tracks are split into two mono object tracks.
The automation for each object that was stored separately from the audio signal in the Dolby Atmos ADM BWF file is applied as automation to the individual object tracks.
All the Volume faders on the tracks are set to 0 dB (unity gain).
The surround master channel strip has only the Dolby Atmos plug-in inserted.
The downmix and trim settings contained in the Dolby Atmos ADM BWF file are applied and visible in the Downmix & Trim pane of the Dolby Atmos plug-in. See Downmix and trim controls.
Create a Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos project from a Dolby Atmos ADM BWF master file
In Logic Pro, choose File > Import > Create Project from ADM BWF.
