Colors project settings in Logic Pro for Mac
In Logic Pro, the Score project settings contain the following Colors settings, which define the color options for pitch, velocity, and notes:
Pitch Colors settings
Pitch Colors Type buttons: Each note of the octave is assigned a color. They are arranged like piano keys. You have the following two choices when it comes to pitch color:
Diatonic: Allows you to use 7 different colors.
Chromatic: Allows you to use 12 different colors.
Pitch Color buttons: Click any color to open the standard Colors window and change that particular color.
Velocity Colors settings
Velocity Color buttons: These eight colors are applied in accordance with the MIDI velocity of notes, from left (minimum) to right (maximum). Click any color to open the standard Colors window and change a particular color.
Note Color Options settings
Accidentals checkbox: Determines whether accidentals are displayed in color (according to their note associations), or in black.
Dots checkbox: Determines whether dots are displayed in color (according to their note associations), or in black.
Ties checkbox: Determines whether ties are displayed in color (according to their note associations), or in black.
Rests checkbox: Determines whether rests are displayed in color (according to their note associations), or in black. Rest colors only apply to user rests, which are mainly used in polyphonic staff styles.
User Palette settings
User Palette Color buttons: These colors can be freely edited and named. Click any color to open the standard Colors window and change that particular color. Double-click the text boxes to edit the names. These names are displayed as color options in different color selection menus (staff styles, note attributes).
Other settings
Defaults button: Click to reset any changes you made in the Colors pane.
