Speed up exports with simultaneous processing in Final Cut Pro for Mac

You can speed up H.264 and HEVC exports by sending segments of your video to available media engines for simultaneous processing. This is called export segmentation.

When your project is approximately 3 minutes or longer, the “Allow export segmentation” option becomes available in the Share window and is selected by default. You can monitor the progress of simultaneous processing in the Background Tasks window.

Simultaneous processing requires macOS Sonoma or later and a Mac with Apple M1 Max, M1 Ultra, M2 Max, M2 Ultra, or M3 Max. HEVC HLG Dolby Vision 8.4 is not supported.
