Change General settings in the Apple TV app on Mac
In the Apple TV app on your Mac, use General settings to set whether your movies and shows are downloaded, are available across devices, and more.
To change these settings, choose TV > Settings, then click General.
Option | Description |

Always check for available downloads | Automatically check for items you previously purchased from the iTunes Store but didn’t download. |
Automatic Downloads | Automatically download purchased movies or TV shows (or both) to your computer. |
Checkboxes in library | Display checkboxes next to each item in your library (in list view). Only items with selected checkboxes are automatically synced in your library. |
Continue Watching Display | Choose the type of art you want to see in your Continue Watching row: a still frame or poster art. |
List Size | Choose an option (Small, Medium, or Large) to control the size of the font when the library is set to list view. |
Appearance | Choose to view Apple TV app in Light or Dark mode. |
Play Next Episode | Start the next episode automatically when watching in the Apple TV app. |
Play a Recommendation | Play recommended content automatically after watching a series, movie, or sporting event in the Apple TV app. |
Show Sports Score | Display live sports scores in the Apple TV app. |
