Duplicate tracks in Logic Pro for iPad

You can duplicate a track, creating a new track below the original track with the same instrument and effects settings. The duplicate track can be empty, or it can contain the same content as the original track.

The Duplicate Track button has two states, Duplicate Track and Duplicate Track with Content . You can choose which function it performs, and then use it to duplicate tracks with or without content.

Choose the function for the Duplicate Track button

  1. In Logic Pro, touch and hold the Duplicate Track button  above the track headers.

  2. Under Configure Button, do one of the following:

    • Choose Duplicate Track to duplicate a selected track without its content.

    • Choose Duplicate Track with Content to duplicate a selected track along with its content.

The Duplicate Track button keeps the assigned function until you change it.

Duplicate a track without its content

  1. In Logic Pro, tap a track icon to select the track.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Tap the Duplicate Track button  above the track headers.

    • Tap the track icon again, then tap Duplicate.

Note: You can choose the function for the Duplicate Track button.

Duplicate a track along with its content

  1. In Logic Pro, tap a track icon to select the track.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Tap the Duplicate Track button  above the track headers.

    • Tap the track icon again, then tap Duplicate with Content.
