Focus behavior in Motion

The Focus behavior animates the camera’s Focus Offset parameter to focus on a target object. For more information on camera focus settings, see Intro to depth of field in Motion.

Tip: Use this behavior to perform a rack-focus effect during a scene.

After you apply this behavior, the Focus section of the Behaviors Inspector contains the following parameter controls:

  • Target: An image well to specify the object upon which the camera will focus. Drag an object from the Layers list into the well.

  • Transition: A slider to set how long it takes for the camera to reach the focus position, measured as a percentage of the behavior’s duration.

  • Speed: A pop-up menu to set the type of interpolation used for the movement. Values include Constant, Ease In, Ease Out, Ease Both, Accelerate, or Decelerate.

The HUD contains the same controls as the Inspector.
