Comp your audio recordings in Logic Pro for iPad

With the Quick Swipe Comping feature in Logic Pro for iPad, you can select the best parts from several audio takes and combine them into a single composite take, or comp. For information about how to record audio, see Record live audio and Record multiple audio takes.

After creating a comp, it’s a good idea to duplicate it so that you can easily return to it later or so that you can create multiple alternate comps.

Note: Quick Swipe Comping is only available for audio take folders.

Create a comp with Quick Swipe Comping

  1. In Logic Pro, tap the disclosure arrow in the top-left corner of the audio region to open the take folder.

  2. Touch a part of a take lane, and then drag across it to create a take section and add it to the comp.

Logic Pro automatically saves the comp as you work. The comp overview, located in the top lane of the take folder, reflects the combined sections from the takes. The vertical lines in the comp overview indicate crossfades between the different take sections.

Once you’ve created a comp, the Takes pop-up menu displays comp operations.

Duplicate a comp

  • In Logic Pro, tap the Takes pop-up menu in the top-left corner of the take folder to open the Takes pop-up menu, then tap Duplicate Comp.

The current comp is saved and added to the list of comps in the Takes pop-up menu.
