See glossaries and definitions in Books on Mac

If you’re reading an interactive book that has a glossary, you can look up the glossary entries.

Open Books for me

See a book’s glossary

  1. Go to the Books app on your Mac.

  2. Click Books (or another collection) below Library in the sidebar.

  3. Double-click an interactive book that has a glossary.

  4. Move the pointer to the top of the page, then click the Show Glossary button (or choose View > Show Glossary).

    If the book doesn’t have a glossary, the command is dimmed.

  5. Click a glossary term.

See a word’s definition and other information

Control-click the word, then choose Look Up. See Look up words.
