Restrict access to podcasts with explicit content on Mac

You can prevent people who use your Mac from accessing podcasts with explicit content.

Open Podcasts for me

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Screen Time in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

Open Screen Time settings for me

  2. Click Content & Privacy and make sure it’s turned on.

  3. Do any of the following:

    • Restrict podcasts with explicit content: Click Store Restrictions, then turn off Allow Explicit Music, Podcasts and News.

    • Turn off the app on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Click App & Feature Restrictions, then turn off Allow Podcasts below Allowed on iOS.

See the Screen Time section of the user guide for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. If a device doesn’t have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, get the user guide from the Apple Support Manuals website.
