Add your ID to Wallet on iPhone

With your identity card in the Wallet app, you can easily and securely present your ID at select locations in-person, in-app, and online. You can also keep supported identity cards on Apple Watch.

Add your driver’s license or state ID (U.S. only)

You can easily and securely add your driver’s license or state ID to the Wallet app, then use your iPhone or Apple Watch to present your license or ID at select Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoints and at participating businesses. You can also present your ID in select apps and websites that require identity verification. (Supported on iPhone 8 or later with iOS 15.4 or later, and on Apple Watch Series 4 or later with watchOS 8.4 or later. The driver’s license or state ID must be issued by a participating state. See the IDs in Wallet website.)

  1. Go to the Wallet app  on your iPhone.

  2. Tap the Add Card button.

  3. Tap Driver’s License and ID Cards, then choose your state. (Available for participating states.)

  4. Add your license or ID to your iPhone only, or to both your iPhone and paired Apple Watch.

  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to scan the front and back of your license or ID, then follow the prompts to confirm it’s you.

A Digital ID in the Wallet app.

Add a Digital ID (U.S. only)

With your U.S. passport, you can create a Digital ID in Wallet, and then securely present your Digital ID at select Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoints. You can also present your Digital ID in apps for identity verification. (Supported on iPhone 11 or later with iOS 26.1 or later, and on Apple Watch Series 6 or later with watchOS 26.1 or later.)

Add a My Number Card (Japan only)

You can seamlessly add your My Number Card to Apple Wallet on iPhone and present it at convenience stores to print government-issued certificates, check in at hospitals and clinics, and prove your age or identity in person, in apps and online. (Supported on iPhone XR, iPhone XS, or later with iOS 18.5 or later).

View the information on your ID

  1. Go to the Wallet app  on your iPhone.

  2. Tap your ID.

  3. To see more details, tap the Info button.
