Share a contact in Contacts on Mac

You can share your contact card or another person’s contact card as a vCard file (.vcf) so that others can add it to their list of contacts.

Note: If you don’t want to share notes or photos in contact cards, choose Contacts > Settings, click vCard, then deselect the “Export notes” and “Export photos” checkboxes.

Open Contacts for me

  1. Go to the Contacts app on your Mac.

  2. Select your card or another contact card.

  3. Click Share Contact. (You may need to scroll down.)

  4. Choose a share option such as Mail, Messages, or AirDrop.

If you made your card private in Contacts vCard settings, fields you opted not to share aren’t included when you share your card.
