Edit the saved value for a mapped parameter in MainStage

Each mapped parameter has a saved value. You can view and edit the saved value for each parameter mapping in the Mappings tab of the Screen Control Inspector. If you change the value of a parameter in performance by manipulating screen controls, those changes are saved only for the selected patch. Editing the saved value in the Screen Control Inspector ensures that the value is saved, regardless of whether the patch is selected.

Adjust the minimum range value for a mapped parameter

  1. In the MainStage Screen Control Inspector, click the Mappings tab.

    The current saved minimum range value appears in the Range Min column for the mapped parameter.

  2. Drag the slider to raise or lower the value.

Adjust the maximum range value for a mapped parameter

  1. In the MainStage Screen Control Inspector, click the Mappings tab.

    The current saved maximum range value appears in the Range Max column for the mapped parameter.

  2. Drag the slider to raise or lower the value.

Switch the minimum and maximum range values for a mapped parameter

  1. In the MainStage Screen Control Inspector, click the Mappings tab.

  2. Select the Invert checkbox in the Invert column for the mapped parameter.

  1. In the MainStage Screen Control Inspector, click the Mappings tab

  2. Click the Graph button for the mapping you want to edit.

Set how a mapped parameter behaves when changing patches

The On Patch Change pop-up menu in the General preferences pane determines how saved mapped parameters behave when changing patches. However, you can choose to set a custom behavior for a mapped parameter in the Mappings tab of the Screen Control Inspector.

  1. In the MainStage Screen Control Inspector, click the Mappings tab.

  2. Select the On Patch Change pop-up menu in the On Patch column for the mapped parameter, and choose from the following options:

    • Use preference setting: The parameter value behavior when changing patches is determined by the On Patch Change pop-up menu in the General preferences pane.

    • Keep current value: The current value of the parameter is retained when changing patches.

    • Reset to saved value: The parameter value resets to the saved value when changing patches.

    • Match hardware value: The parameter value is set to the current hardware value when changing patches.

Note: When you save a concert, the current value of each screen control in the currently selected patch is saved in the concert. You can see the values update in the Screen Control Inspector. When you export a patch, the current parameter values become the saved values in the exported patch.
