Magnify objects around you with iPad

In the Magnifier app , you can use your iPad as a magnifying glass to zoom in on objects near you.

Turn on Magnifier

Open the Magnifier app in any of the following ways:

Adjust the image

  1. To adjust the zoom, drag the slider left or right.

  2. Swipe up to reveal more controls. If you don’t see the controls you want, you can add more controls.

  3. Use any of the following controls:

Detect people around you

On iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation and later) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th generation and later), tap the People Detection button to detect people and help you maintain a physical or social distance from others. See Detect people around you using Magnifier on iPad.

Freeze the frame

You can freeze one or more frames and review them.

Note: Freeze frames aren’t saved to Photos.

  1. Tap the Freeze Frame button.

  2. To freeze more frames, tap the Enter Multi Shot button, reposition the camera, then tap the Add button.

  3. To review the freeze frames, tap View, then tap the frames you want to see.

  4. To return to the live lens, tap End.
