Set a velocity offset for MIDI regions in the Tracks area in Logic Pro for iPad

In Logic Pro for iPad, the Velocity Offset parameter in the Region inspector offsets all MIDI note velocities in the selected MIDI regions during playback. Positive values add to the current velocity, and negative ones subtract from it. If you select a velocity offset that exceeds the maximum or minimum possible value for a particular note (0–127), that note will play at the extreme possible range. For example, a setting of +20 will cause a note with a velocity of 120 to play at 127.

Note: The MIDI note velocities displayed in the Piano Roll Editor are different from what you hear because they aren't changed visually by the Region inspector Velocity Offset value.

Apply a velocity offset in MIDI regions

  1. In Logic Pro, in the Tracks area menu bar, tap the Trim button .

  2. Tap a MIDI region to select it, or select multiple MIDI regions.

  3. Tap the Inspector button  on the left side of the view control bar (or press I on your external keyboard) to open the Region inspector.

  4. Tap the General disclosure arrow to show the General parameters.

  5. Drag the Velocity Offset value up or down, or tap the Velocity Offset field to open the numeric input dialog and enter a numeric value.

    The value range is ±99.
