Keyboard shortcuts in Music on Mac

In the Music app on your Mac, you can quickly accomplish many tasks using keyboard shortcuts. Shortcuts are listed below, as well as in Music menus in the menu bar. In app menus, keyboard shortcuts are represented by symbols.

Note: Keyboard shortcuts in apps may vary depending on the language and keyboard layout you’re using on your Mac. If the shortcuts below don’t work as you expect, look in the app menus in the menu bar to see the correct shortcuts. You can also use the Keyboard Viewer to see your current keyboard layout, known as an input source.

Open Music for me

Play songs, music videos, and more

Start playing or pause the selected song	Space bar
Play the currently selected song from the beginning	Return
Move forward or backward within a song	Option-Command-Right Arrow or Left Arrow
Stop playing the selected song	Command-Period
When a song is playing, play the next song in a list	Right Arrow

Show the currently playing song in the list	Command-L

Create and manage playlists

Open the View Options window for the selected source	Command-J
