Control Centre at a glance
Control Centre gives you quick access to settings and controls for switching users, playing music, accessing HomeKit cameras and scenes, turning Apple TV off, setting a sleep timer and more.
When you activate Control Centre, a row of tabs for controls and settings appears in the upper-right corner of the screen.
When Control Centre isn’t open, the tabs are replaced by a row of status indicators on the Home Screen showing the current time, current user and other important information.
Open Control Centre
On the Siri Remote, press and hold the TV button
.Control Centre opens to the General Settings tab, which features commonly used settings and controls. Additional tabs appear in the row depending on which features are currently available. For example, if you have music playing, you can access controls in the Now Playing tab.
Do one of the following:
Select a control in the General Settings tab.
Select a different tab in the row:

Change the active user profile.
Open the General Settings tab.
Open HomeKit cameras and scenes previously set up in the Home app on another device.
Open Continuity Camera controls.
Open FaceTime controls.
Answer incoming FaceTime video call.
Answer incoming FaceTime audio call.
Open SharePlay controls.
Open Now Playing controls for Music.
Open controls for connected headphones.
Open VPN settings.
Close Control Centre
Press the Back button
(Siri Remote 2nd generation or later) or 
button (Siri Remote 1st generation).
View Apple TV status on the Home Screen
Status indicators appear in the upper-right corner of the Home Screen when Control Centre isn’t active:

| Shows the active user profile. |
 | A connected camera or microphone is active. |
 | A connected camera or microphone is not active. |
 | Do Not Disturb is active. |
 | Content restrictions are active. |
 | The sleep timer is active. |
 | The battery in the remote needs to be recharged. |
| A camera is connected. |
| A FaceTime video call is active. |
 | A FaceTime audio call is active. |
| SharePlay is engaged. |
| Music is currently playing. |
| Bluetooth earbuds, headphones or AirPods are connected. |
 | A game controller is connected. |
 | A keyboard is connected. |
| Apple TV is connected to a virtual private network. |
 | Apple TV has no internet connection. |
