What’s new in Compressor
Compressor 4.9 includes new features and enhancements.
Spatial video encoding
Transcode a variety of stereoscopic video formats to spatial video for editing in Final Cut Pro and playback on Apple Vision Pro. See Encode spatial video from stereoscopic source media for Apple Vision Pro.
Add to Photos job action
The new Add to Photos job action makes it easy to share exported spatial video to the Photos app for viewing on Apple Vision Pro; you can also apply this job action to any media you export in Compressor. See Add and modify job actions.
Improved high frame rate support
You can now export media with frame rates of 90, 100, or 120 fps when using a preset based on the Apple Devices, Image Sequence, MPEG-4, or Quicktime Movie formats. See Modify timing and frame rate.
Third-party media extensions
Install third-party media extensions to support additional video formats. See Import third-party formats with media extensions.
System requirements
The minimum system requirement for Compressor 4.9 is macOS Sonoma 14.6. Media extensions require macOS Sequoia or later. For more information, go to the Final Cut Pro Specs webpage, then click Compressor at the top of the page.
