Use the Link behavior to control text strings

You can use the Link behavior to propogate the text in one text object (the source object) to other text objects.

  1. In Motion, add two or more text objects.

  2. Apply the Link parameter behavior to the text object that you want to control with a source text object.

  3. Drag the source text object from the Layers list to the Source Object well in the Behaviors Inspector.

  4. Click the Apply To pop-up menu, then choose Object > Text.

  5. Click the Source Parameter pop-up menu, then choose Object > Text.

The text of the source object replaces the text in the other text object. The size, color, font, and other attributes of the recipient text object are retained.

  6. To apply the source object’s text to other text objects, select the Link behavior in the Layers list, then choose Edit > Copy (or press Command-C).

  7. Select one or more text objects, then choose Edit > Paste (or press Command-V).

The source object text replaces the text of the linked text object(s).
