Are you new to Mac?
If this is your first Mac computer, here’s some helpful information to help you get your bearings and get started with macOS.
The menu bar runs along the top of the screen on your Mac and contains menus, status icons, and controls so you can quickly get things done. The Dock is at the bottom of the screen and contains the apps you use most. The desktop is the area between the menu bar and Dock, and is where you’ll do most of your work. The background picture on your desktop is called the wallpaper.
Use the Dock and menu bar
Use the menus and icons in the menu bar to open the Apple menu or Control Center, search with Spotlight, activate Siri, view the status of your camera and microphone, and more. You can open apps with a click right from the Dock.

You can have multiple windows for an app open at a time. Use the buttons in the top-left corner of a window to resize and close windows.

 See all your open windows Press |  Quit an app When you close an app window, the app itself remains running in the background. To close all the app windows and stop the app from running in the background, Control-click the app icon in the Dock, then choose Quit. |
Find and organize files
Use the Finder to find and organize almost everything on your Mac, including documents, images, movies, and any other files you have.
