Adjust Podcast app settings on Apple TV 4K

There are a few settings you can use to control how podcasts are managed in the Podcasts app on Apple TV 4K.

Tip: To show your screen saver while listening to podcasts, go to Settings on Apple TV 4K, go to Screen Saver, then select Show During Music and Podcasts to set it to Yes.

  1. Go to Settings on Apple TV 4K.

  2. Go to Apps > Podcasts, then adjust any of the settings listed below.

    Option

    Description

    Background App Refresh

    Turn on to allow Podcasts to refresh your subscriptions and episode lists in the background.

    Sync Podcasts

    Turn on to sync your listening history and podcast progress across all of your devices.

    Continuous Playback

    Turn on to automatically start playing the next episode after the current one ends.

    Remove Played Downloads

    Turn on to remove downloaded episodes 24 hours after they’re played.

    Custom Colors

    Turn on to see custom colors based on the artwork for each podcast in the background of the podcast page.
