Where on my Mac are the files I transferred from my PC?

After you transfer your information from a PC to a Mac and log in to your user account on the Mac, you can find your information in the following locations.

Custom desktop picture

Set as the desktop picture on your Mac.

To change the picture, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Wallpaper in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)

In the Mail app .

In the Contacts app .

Calendars

In the Calendar app .

Web browser bookmarks, favorites, and homepage

Set in the Safari app .

Music from iTunes

In the Music app .

Open Music for me

Podcasts from iTunes

In the Podcasts app .

Open Podcasts for me

Audiobooks from iTunes

In the Books app .

Open Books for me

Files from your main documents, videos, music, and pictures folders

In the Documents, Movies, Music, and Pictures folders in your home folder in the Finder.

In the Finder , choose Go > Home.

Files outside of the User folder

In the Finder, in the /Users/Shared folder.

Files from the desktop

Moved to the desktop of your Mac.

Tip: To change settings for transferred user accounts, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
