Add arrangement markers in Logic Pro for Mac

When you add an arrangement marker, it’s eight bars long. You can resize it to cover the section of the project you want it to include, and you can rename it to reflect its place in the project.

Add an arrangement marker

  • In Logic Pro, click the Add Arrangement Marker button (+) in the arrangement track (or use the Create Arrangement Marker key command).

Figure. An Arrangement track with two arrangement markers added.

The arrangement marker appears at the start of the project or at the end of the last existing arrangement marker, regardless of the playhead position.

Resize an arrangement marker

You can resize arrangement markers. When you resize the point where two adjacent arrangement markers meet, both arrangement markers are resized accordingly.

  1. In the Logic Pro arrangement track, place the pointer over the edge of an arrangement marker.

For two adjacent arrangement markers, the pointer changes to a Junction pointer. For the beginning of the first arrangement marker or the end of the last arrangement marker, the pointer changes to a Resize pointer.

  2. Drag the marker edge to the new position.

Rename an arrangement marker

In Logic Pro, do one of the following:

  • Click the name of the arrangement marker, then choose a new name from the shortcut menu.

  • Click the name of the arrangement marker, choose Rename from the shortcut menu, then enter a new name.

  • Double-click the marker (except the name), then enter a new name.
