Change Playback settings in the Apple TV app on Windows

In the Apple TV app  on your Windows device, use Playback settings to change video quality.

To change these settings, select the Sidebar Actions button at the top of the sidebar, choose Settings, then select Playback.

Description

Streaming quality

Choose the streaming option that works best with your device and internet service provider.

  • Data Saver: Streams the best quality available at the lowest file size.

  • High Quality (Up to 4K): Streams the highest-quality video, including HDR video when it’s available.

Video download quality

Choose the download option that works best with your device’s storage space and internet connection.

  • Most Compatible HD (1080p): Downloads the most compatible format for your display in high definition.

  • Most Compatible SD (480p): Downloads the most compatible format for your display in standard definition.

  • Fast Downloads: Downloads the smallest possible file size. Choose this option if you have a slow internet connection.

  • High Quality (Up to 1080p): Downloads the highest-quality video up to 1080p.

Download Multichannel Audio

Download multichannel audio when it’s available.

Use viewing history

Allow Apple TV to use your viewing history to influence recommendations in the Apple TV app and sync your viewing progress across all your devices.

Share Playback Analytics

Send data to Apple about playback performance.
