BITRSHIFT

The BITRSHIFT function returns the bitwise RSHIFT of two numbers.

BITRSHIFT(value, shift-amount)

value: The number to shift. value must be non-negative.

shift-amount: The number of places to the right to shift value.

Notes

  • Shifting a number right removes digits from the rightmost side of the binary equivalent of the number.

Examples

=BITRSHIFT(12,3) returns 1. The binary equivalent of 12 is 1100, and removing three digits leaves 1.
