Add or remove a friend in Find My on Mac

After you share your location with friends, family members, or other contacts, you can ask to follow their locations or remove them if you no longer want to see where they are.

Open Find My for me

Ask to see a friend’s location

  1. Go to the Find My app on your Mac.

  2. Click People, then select the name of your friend.

If you don’t see your friend in the list, share your location with them.

  3. Click the Info button on the map.

  4. In the Settings section, click Request Location.

After your friend accepts your request, you can see their location, add them to favorites, and more.

Stop seeing a friend’s location

If you no longer want to see a friend’s location, you can remove them from Find My. When you remove a friend, you can no longer see their location, and they can no longer see yours.

  1. Go to the Find My app on your Mac.

  2. Click People, select a name, then click the Info button on the map.

  3. In the Settings section, click Remove or Stop Sharing My Location.

Note: Location sharing and finding people aren’t available in all countries or regions.
