Work with ADM BWF files in Logic Pro
When you are finished with your Dolby Atmos mix, you can export your project or a section of your project to a file that uses the Audio Definition Model Broadcast Wave Format (ADM BWF). ADM BWF is the required file format when you submit a Dolby Atmos mix to Apple Music and other online music services. ADM BWF files are also compatible with industry tools that are used to edit and master Dolby Atmos mixes for further distribution.
ADM BWF files exported by Logic Pro contain the following:
A multichannel audio file containing the surround bed and the individual mono and split stereo object tracks.
Metadata required for reproducing the mix on systems or devices compatible with Dolby Atmos.
You can create a new Dolby Atmos project from an ADM BWF file. Logic Pro imports the surround bed as a multichannel audio file, the individual mono and stereo tracks (the latter split into separate mono object tracks), and the automation information. The new project is automatically set up for mixing in Dolby Atmos.
You can also bounce your Dolby Atmos mix to a discrete surround audio file. The surround format of the bounced files is determined by the monitoring format you choose in the Dolby Atmos plug-in. See Bounce surround audio files in Logic Pro.
Export a Dolby Atmos mix to an ADM BWF file
In Logic Pro, go to File > Export, then choose one of the following options from the menu:
Export your project: Project as ADM BWF
Export selection: Selection as ADM BWF
When you choose Selection as ADM BWF, Logic Pro exports the part of the project enclosed by the cycle area. You can also create a marquee selection and export just that part of the project.
Create a new project from an ADM BWF file
In Logic Pro, choose File > Import > Create Project from ADM BWF.
