Analyze the key signature of a range of chords in Logic Pro for Mac

Logic Pro can analyze a series of selected chords to determine the key signature, and add the determined key signature to the Signature track as a key signature change.

Analyze the key signature of selected chords on the Chord track

  1. In Logic Pro, select a chord group on the Chord track.

  2. Control-click the chord group, then choose Analyze Key Signature from the shortcut menu.

Logic Pro analyzes the selected chords to determine the key signature, and adds the determined key signature to the Signature track as a key signature change.

If no key signature change exists in the project before the last of the selected chords, the initial key signature changes to the result. If a key signature change does exist, a key signature change event is added at the start position of the first selected chord.

Analyze the key signature of chords on a Session Player region

  1. In Logic Pro, select a Session Player region in the Tracks area.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Choose Chords > Analyze Key Signature from the Session Player Editor menu bar.

    • Control-click the region, then choose Chords > Analyze Key Signature from the shortcut menu.
