Feature a person, a place, or memory less often in Photos

You can set the Photos app to show certain people, places, and days less frequently in your memories, in featured photos, and in the Photos widget. You can reset your suggested memories, people, and pets to your original settings.

Show a person less frequently in Photos on iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Open a photo of the person you want to show less often.

  3. Tap the More button, then tap Don’t Feature This Person (You may need to scroll down).

    If there’s more than one person in the photo, tap the person you want to feature less, then tap Next.

  4. Choose Feature This Person Less or Never Feature This Person.

  5. Tap Confirm.

Show a person less frequently in Photos on Mac

  1. Go to the Photos app on your Mac.

  2. Click Collections in the sidebar, then click People & Pets (or People).

  3. Control-click a person or a pet, then choose Don’t Feature [name] or Don’t Feature This Person.

    The option you see depends on whether the person or pet is named in your photo library.

Feature other content less frequently in Photos on iPhone or iPad

You can make certain days, places, or people appear less frequently in featured photos and the memories the Photos app creates.

  1. Go to the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Tap Collections.

  3. Swipe left under Memories to scroll through a selection of your memories, or tap Memories to view them all.

  4. Touch and hold a memory, then tap Feature Less.

  5. Select a person to feature less of, then tap Next.

  6. Depending on the memory, select one of the following:

    • Feature This Day Less

    • Feature This Place Less

    • Feature This Person Less

Feature other content less frequently in Photos on Mac

You can make certain days, places, or people appear less frequently in the memories the Photos app creates.

  1. Go to the Photos app on your Mac.

  2. Click Collections in the sidebar, then click Memories.

  3. Control-click a memory, choose Feature Less, then click Feature Fewer Memories Like This.

Reset Suggested Memories, People and Pets

You can return your memories to their original settings by resetting suggested memories.

  • On iPhone or iPad: Go to Settings > Apps > Photos, then tap Reset Suggested Memories or Reset People & Pets Suggestions.

  • On Mac: Choose Photos > Settings, click General, then click Reset Suggested Memories or Reset Suggested People & Pets.
