Get started with Calculator on iPad

Convert units and solve math problems in the Calculator app. Use basic or scientific modes, or sketch out and solve your math problems using Math Notes. You can also review your previous calculations.

Convert units easily

Miles to millimeters? Yen to euros? Change units of length, weight, power, pressure, speed, currency, and more with the unit conversion mode. Tap the Calculator Mode button, then turn on Convert.

Exercise the power of your scientific calculator

Perform advanced calculations involving fractions, powers, roots, exponents, logarithms, trigonometry, and more in the scientific calculator. Tap the Calculator Mode button, tap Scientific, and start entering your expression. Tap the All Clear (AC) key, or touch and hold the Delete key to start again.

Visualize your expressions with graphs

Evaluate expressions, assign variables, and plot graphs in Math Notes. Tap the Calculator Mode button, tap Math Notes, then write an equation with two variables. Tap the equal sign of the equation to design your graph.

Revisit your solutions

To keep track of previous calculations in the basic or scientific calculators, tap the Sidebar button, then tap a listing to reload it. You can also touch and hold an expression or result in the list to copy it and use it again in Calculator or other apps.
