Change the gain of audio regions in the Tracks area in Logic Pro for Mac
You can edit the gain of audio regions in the Tracks area using the Gain tool. When the Gain tool is selected, placing the pointer over an audio region in the Tracks area shows the gain in decibels (dB), and as a yellow line across the region. You can click and hold the region, and drag up or down to increase or decrease the gain. When the Audio Track Editor is open, you can see the gain change visually reflected in the waveform.
If you make a marquee selection in the audio region, and then use the Gain tool, the change applies only to the selection, not the entire region.
Change the gain of audio regions using the Gain tool
In Logic Pro, select the Gain tool from the Tool menu in the Tracks area (or use the Gain Tool key command).
Do one of the following:
Hold the pointer over an audio region.
Make a marquee selection in an audio region.
To edit multiple audio regions, select the regions.
A yellow line appears in the region or regions, and the gain is displayed numerically in dB.
Drag the pointer vertically to increase or decrease the gain.
The numerical gain value updates as you drag.
Reset edits with the Gain tool to 0dB
Option-click the edited region or selection with the Gain tool.
