  1. In Pixelmator Pro on your Mac, select a layer in the Layers sidebar.

If you don’t see the Layers sidebar, choose View > Show Layers.

  2. Click the Add button at the top of the Layers sidebar, then choose Generate Image.

  3. Select the style (Photorealistic, Illustration, Line, and so on), view, and aspect for the image you want to create.

  4. In the text field, enter a text description for the image you want to generate, then click The submit button.

An image based on your text description and selections is generated.

  5. To edit the image, select an editing category (Details, Background, Mood, and so on), select a suggested phrase description (or enter your own in the text field), then click The submit button.

  6. Click Insert.

A new layer is created with the image, above the selected layer in the Layers sidebar.

Important: Image Generation is subject to usage limitations. To check your usage status, choose Pixelmator Pro > Intelligence Features > Show Usage Status.

*This feature uses third-party generative AI models, and outputs may vary.
