Read stories shared with you in News on Mac

When someone shares Apple News stories with you using the Messages app, you can easily find the stories in Shared with You in the News sidebar.

Open News for me

  1. Make sure the person sharing the story is in your contacts, and that you turned on Shared with You for News in Messages settings. See Keep track of shared content in Messages.

  2. Go to the News app on your Mac.

  3. Click Shared with You in the sidebar.

    If you don’t see the sidebar, choose View > Show Sidebar.

  4. In the list of shared stories, do any of the following:

    • Click a shared story to read it in News.

    • Click the name of the person who shared a story to reply to them using Messages. You can also reply while reading the story—click the name shown just below the toolbar.

    • Click the ellipsis for a story to take other actions—for example, save the story, get suggestions for similar stories, or follow the story’s channel.
