Export MIDI tracks as a MIDI file

In Logic Pro for iPad, you can choose to export all or only selected MIDI tracks in a project as a MIDI file.

Export all or selected MIDI tracks as a MIDI file

  1. In the Tracks area in Logic Pro, select the MIDI tracks you want to export.

    If you want to export all MIDI tracks, you can skip this step.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Tap the Projects button  in the top-left corner of the screen, then tap Export.

    • Tap the Export button  in the control bar.

      Note: If the Export button is not visible in the control bar, you need to add it by customizing the control bar. See Change the controls in the control bar.

  3. In the Export Options dialog, tap the MIDI file type.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • To export the selected MIDI tracks: Turn on the Export Selection as MIDI File switch.

    • To export all MIDI tracks: Turn off the Export Selection as MIDI File switch.

  5. Tap Export, then wait for the file to export.

  6. In the list of export and sharing destinations that appears, do one of the following:

    • Save the file to iCloud Drive or your iPad: Tap Save to Files, choose a destination in the sidebar and a folder on the right, then tap Save.

    • Share the file with a nearby Apple device: Tap AirDrop, tap the device you want to share to, then tap Done.

    • Share the file in an app: Tap an app icon, provide any requested information, share the file, then tap Done.
