Rezistenca civile
Rezistenca civile është një formë veprimi politik që mbështetet në përdorimin e rezistencës jo të dhunshme nga njerëzit e zakonshëm për të sfiduar një fuqi, forcë, politikë ose regjim të caktuar.[1] Rezistenca civile funksionon përmes thirrjeve ndaj kundërshtarit, presionit dhe detyrimit: mund të përfshijë përpjekje sistematike për të minuar ose ekspozuar burimet e fuqisë së kundërshtarit (ose shtyllat e mbështetjes, si policia, ushtria, kleri, elita e biznesit, etj.). Format e veprimit kanë përfshirë demonstratat, vigjiljet dhe peticionet; greva, ngadalësime, bojkotime dhe lëvizje emigruese; dhe protestat, pushtimet, programi konstruktiv dhe krijimi i institucioneve paralele të qeverisjes.
Motivimet e disa lëvizjeve të rezistencës civile për shmangien e dhunës në përgjithësi lidhen me kontekstin, duke përfshirë vlerat e një shoqërie dhe përvojën e saj të luftës dhe dhunës, dhe jo me ndonjë parim etik absolut. Rastet e rezistencës civile mund të gjenden gjatë historisë dhe në shumë beteja moderne, si kundër sundimtarëve tiranë, ashtu edhe kundër qeverive të zgjedhura në mënyrë demokratike. Mahatma Gandhi udhëhoqi fushatën e parë të dokumentuar të rezistencës civile (duke përdorur tre taktika kryesore: mosbindje civile, marshime dhe krijimi i institucioneve paralele) për të çliruar Indinë nga imperializmi britanik.[2] Fenomeni i rezistencës civile shpesh lidhet me avancimin e të drejtave të njeriut dhe demokracisë.[3]
