However, for FIFA 23 select women's club team's now also feature allowing fans to play as even more of their favorite players from divisions such as the Women's Super League. With more options than ever to take to the online field with women's international and club sides it is important to pick the best to have an advantage in matches.

Each year more stars are moving into the Women's Super League in England, and with good reason, thanks to better investment and more media coverage, with the top teams amongst the best on offer in FIFA 23. London clubs Arsenal and Chelsea lead the way with the Blues side including the first female cover star in the series Sam Kerr. The striker is 90 rated with high pace, shooting, and dribbling stats making her one of the best female players in the game. Arsenal doesn't have that one really high-rated player that others do but are balanced across the park thanks to players such as England winger Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema, and Kim Little. Manchester United is also on the rise and Manchester City continues to attract some of the world's best making both viable picks.

After European Championship glory in the summer, it is hard to look past England when picking an International Team. A side full of star names such as captain Leah Williamson, Mead, and right back Lucy Bronze the Lionesses has quality all over the park. Mead is rated 88 and one of the best all-around women in the game, as well as being able to perform many of the best skills moves in FIFA 23. Bronze is the highest-rated player in the England squad with an overall rating of 90 the joint fifth highest of any player in FIFA 23.

There are some other great options among the 17 international teams in the game including the most successful nation in women's football USA. In all the previous editions of FIFA since the addition of female players, the United States has had the best team as well as the highest-rated women's players. USA remains the best-rated international side in FIFA and has one of the best statistical players in the game with the 90-rated striker Alex Morgan. European sides France and Spain are also good all-round options, with the latter including the highest-rated women's player Alexia Putellas, who is 92 rated overall and can perform the new power shots in FIFA 23. Spain has one of the overall best squads with five of their players having an 87 rating or higher covering all key areas of the pitch thanks to midfielder Putellas, goalkeeper Sandra Panos, striker Jenni Hermoso and centre-backs Irene Parades and Mapi Leon.

Women's football is continuing to grow at a phenomenal rate and the addition of club teams for FIFA 23 is surely just the start. The possibilities are endless for future games and it is only a matter of time until female players are included in other modes such as career mode and Ultimate Team despite FIFA and EA Sports splitting after this year. There are a host of great teams to pick from in FIFA 23, but European champions England and the powerhouses from the Women's Super League are the best women's sides.
