Open HarnessMaintained by Mifune

Run coding agents in a sandbox, not on your machine.

Open Harness connects one repository to an isolated, persistent Docker workspace. Bring your preferred coding agent, keep its toolchain off your host, then self-host it or choose Mifune-managed Open Harness Cloud.

Coding agent

Your choice

Open Harness workspace flow: one repository connects to a persistent, isolated Docker sandbox, the operator launches a preferred coding agent inside it, and chooses Mifune-managed Cloud or self-hosting.

SUPPORTED HARNESSES

Pick your agent.

Claude Code, Codex, and Pi ship preinstalled. OpenCode, DeepAgents, Hermes, and Grok Build are opt-in image installs. Switch between them inside the sandbox — or add your own by editing the Dockerfile.

PORTABLE AGENT HARNESS

One repo. One sandbox.

Open Harness is the portable layer between your repository and your coding agent. The repository defines one isolated, persistent Docker workspace, so the agent gets a consistent environment and your machine stays clean.

Isolation by default

Keep one project and its toolchain in one Docker sandbox instead of installing project dependencies on your host.

Local or remote

Use the same persistent workspace locally or on a remote VM, with your preferred coding agent inside it.

Worktrees for parallel work

Use isolated git worktrees for parallel branches and delegated work without mixing their working directories.

Open Harness options

Managed Cloud first. Self-host when you want control.

Choose Mifune-managed Open Harness Cloud or operate the MIT-licensed project yourself. Cloud customers can add Mifune engineering support when adoption needs hands-on help.
