You could createCreating a new account, but doing so while question-banned violates the rules for operating multiple accounts - namely, it allows you to do something you would otherwise be restricted from doing. Penalties for violating this restriction can vary:

Keep in mind that, while the details of the algorithm are secret, question bans generally result from many low-quality questions. Try to fix every question you can, following the hints from the previous section. Most questions can be fixed this way. Even if your question was a duplicate, for example, you can try to write a better explanation of the duplicate problem, or choose a better title that helps people understand that it's the same question (and which helps people to find the question with a search engine).

If you're unable to improve your existing questions (for example, because the questions were off topic, or about problems caused by typos), you'll get the chance to ask one new question six months after your last question. If that question is positively received, you maymay be able to continue asking questions; if not, then the ban will remain in effect, and you'll have to wait another six months to ask your next question.

The ban is also not automatically lifted just because you made edits which you think improve your questions - you will need to wait for other users to agree and improve your question scores (by upvoting or by removing their previous downvotes) and for the algorithm to notice the score improvement.

fix grammar; explicit language; remove "project" as that's irrelevant for questions on SO

  • Format code and data as text (using code formatting).
  • Format errors as text in an appropriate way.
  • Do not use images for text-based information (code, errors, data, etc.). Images can sometimes provide good supplementary information, but they should not be used for the purpose of including text-based information in your question.
  • Indent your code and use one indenting style consistently throughout your code. It doesn't really matter which style you choose (although, for some languages, some styles are more appropriate than others). Pick a style and use it consistently for all code in a single project/questionquestion.

Automatic bans never expire or "time out". This means that you cannot simply wait for a certain amount of time. If you do not take action to improve, you will only be permitted to post once every 6 months. The only way for the ban to be lifted is by contributing positively to the site.

Edited the beginning to be more about the poor quality of the posts and not the motives of the user posting them. People who post spam and off topic questions also get banned.

A bit of self-promotion, but let's see if this reduces the workload for moderators. Every bit helps, I guess...

bans don't go on and off. You're q-banned and under the rules of the ban you're allowed to ask a question. No lifting or re-instating is happening. Also put some highlight on the word may
