What is this about?
Your goal is to create your own fictional handheld game console.
- It can be realistic
- It can be something wild like a cyberpunk or fantasy device
- It can be big or small, simple or complex
Even console-like devices such as the Game & Watch and Tamagotchi count, since they have a screen and buttons and they're primarily for gaming.
What to submit
Create and submit an image of your handheld device! It can be a drawing, a 3D render, a fake magazine ad, that's up to you.
Videos are fine too, as long as they can be embedded here on itch.
Rules
For the sake of fairness:
- All entries must be made specifically for this jam,
within the jam period. - You can submit multiple entries.
- You can work in teams.
- You can use third-party assets that you have the right to use (i.e. 3D kitbashing is okay)
- Generative AI is not allowed except for non-creative work such as upscaling textures.
- NSFW and sensitive topics are not allowed.
Scoring
This is a ranked jam with no prizes. Entries will be scored based on:
- Creativity
- Usability: How enjoyable/interesting it would be to use the device.
- Presentation: Quality of the art/writing.
- Theme: How well the submission fits the jam.
