The influence of extract of Kapok seed (Ceiba pentandra Gaertn) as contraceptive at domestic cat (Felis domestica) in terms of the quality of the sperm and the male reproductive organs. The aim of this research was to know the influence of extract of kapok seed (Ceiba pentandra Gaertn) as the contraception drugs to the quality of spermatozoa and male reproduction organ in domestic cats. The animals were divided into four group with each goup consisted of six male cats. Group I, II, III as the treatment group and IV as the control group. The cats were given the emulsion of kapuk seeds extract orally with concentration of 0,1% b/v, 0,71 /kg BB, 0,36 /kg BB and 0,21 /kg BB doses. Some contraceptive methods in small animals have been evolved. This research aimed to determine the effects of kapok seed (Ceiba pentandra Gaertn) extract as contraception agent to the quality of spermatozoain domestic cats. The animals were divided into four group with each group consisted of six male cats. Group I, II, III was designated as the treatment groups and IV as the control group. The cats were given the emulsion of kapok seeds extract orally with concentration of 0,1% b/v, 0,71 mg/kg BB, 0,36 mg/kg BB and 0,21 mg/kg BB doses. This study used Randomized Complete Random Design (RAL) design from sperm quality data and used ANOVA statistic test. Beberapa metode kontrasepsi pada hewan kecil telah banyak dikembangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak biji kapuk (Ceiba pentandra Gaertn) sebagai obat kontrasepsi terhadap kualitas spermatozoa pada kucing lokal. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok, tiap kelompok terdiri dari 6 ekor kucing jantan. Kelompok I, II, dan III ditentukan sebagai kelompok perlakuan sedangkan kelompok IV sebagai kelompok kontrol. Kucing dalam kelompok perlakuan I, II dan III diberikan emulsi ekstrak biji kapuk per oral dengan konsentrasi masing-masing 0,1% b/v dengan dosis 0,71 mg /Kg BB,0,36 mg /Kg BB, dan 0,21 mg /Kg BB.
