Connecting a third-party domain to Shopify
To connect a domain that you bought from a third-party domain provider, such as GoDaddy, IONOS, or Wix, you need to log in to your domain provider account, and then update DNS records. You can find the required DNS records by searching for your domain host in the list below, or by clicking here.
After you update the DNS records, you need to wait until your changes take effect. This usually happens within two hours, but can take up to two days.
If your third-party domain is already connected to a different Shopify store and you want to move it to this store, then you can still use the connect flow. You'll be asked to verify domain ownership through a TXT record or automatic verification before the domain connects to the new store.
