Summary

  • add a dedicated README.zh-CN.md as an initial Simplified Chinese translation of the root README
  • add a language switcher at the top of README.md
  • add the matching language switcher at the top of README.zh-CN.md

Scope

This PR intentionally keeps the scope very small and only covers the root README as a first step for #178.

I did not translate the WhatsApp sub-README or any other docs in this pass so the change stays easy to review and maintain.

Notes

  • commands, code blocks, links, screenshots, and file paths are preserved
  • the Chinese README uses explicit anchors so the localized table of contents stays stable on GitHub

Validation

  • manually checked section-by-section parity between the English and Chinese READMEs
  • verified the cross-links between README.md and README.zh-CN.md
  • verified that commands and relative links were preserved

Testing

  • not run, because this is a docs-only change

Quick note on the failing checks: this does not seem to be caused by the README change itself.

I reproduced the CI behavior locally and saw the same failure at the install step:

  • bun install --frozen-lockfile --ignore-scripts
  • error: lockfile had changes, but lockfile is frozen

I also checked recent CI runs on main, and they appear to be failing in the same area.

So at the moment this looks like an existing CI baseline issue rather than something introduced by this docs-only PR.
