With version 8.14.1, libvips switched from autoconf/automake to meson/ninja for its builds. It took a little tinkering, but I figured out how to make it work, while retaining support for previous versions. I've loaded sharp in the container successfully, but I won't be able to test the layer itself until I deploy it.
I also added code to install
libwebp
from source after discovering that the distro's package was insufficient to get libvips to find it and configure itself properly.
