👋 Hey, I’m Rahul Raghunathan

Engineering Lead who builds scalable systems and AI-powered products that ship to production.

⚡ Engineering Lead | Founding Engineer
🧠 Backend-leaning, but comfortably full-stack
🤖 Currently exploring & building in AI

🎯 Fun fact: I’m always curious about what’s worth building next - not just what’s trending.

🧩 What I Actually Do

I don’t just write code - I own products end-to-end, not just tickets.

I sit at the intersection of:

  • Engineering
  • Product
  • Real-world constraints

Over the last 4 years at a high-growth API startup, I went from founding engineer to leading an engineering team. Here's what that looked like in numbers:

  • Built products that generated $500K+ revenue
  • Building and scaled API lifecycle management platform
  • Scaled API workflow engine from 85 → 785 TPS (9x)
  • Reduced workflow latency from 11s → 1s (90%)
  • Led and mentored engineering teams

I stay hands-on with architecture and code while owning the roadmap, delivery, and client outcomes.

🧠 Current Obsession: AI

Lately, I’ve been deep into:

  • LLM-powered applications
  • AI-assisted developer tools
  • Combining real-time data + reasoning models

I’m especially interested in: AI that actually ships to production, not just demos

🔥 Things I’ve Built

⚙️ API Builder - Workflow Orchestration Platform

A workflow orchestrator platform to build and run complex API workflows.

  • Enables users to create flexible workflows via a no-code UI, acting as a backend layer for applications
  • Built a high-performance execution engine supporting parallel & sequential DAG workflows
  • Integrates with 20+ connectors - databases, caches, Kafka, APIs, LLM, OPA, Slack, mail, and more
  • Supports GraphQL federation, real-time data transformation, cryptography, and custom runtime scripting
  • Designed for developers and enterprise use, powering multiple production systems

💡 Impact:

  • Reduced development & go-to-market time by ~70%
  • Simplified complex integrations into configurable workflows
  • Used by multiple enterprise clients

⚙️ Elyxity - AI Search Assistant

Full-stack AI assistant combining live web search, LLM reasoning, and persistent conversation history.

Built with React · TypeScript · Express · Gemini · Firecrawl · Vercel AI SDK · PostgreSQL

  • Integrates Firecrawl to fetch real-time web context before reasoning
  • Streams LLM responses to the frontend with full conversation awareness
  • Designed to show how grounded, stateful AI assistants are built end-to-end

🧠 Memoire-cli - Terminal AI with Long-Term Memory

A CLI chat assistant that actually remembers you - across sessions, not just turns.

Built with TypeScript · Vercel AI SDK · Gemini · Mem0

  • Retrieves semantically relevant past memories before every response
  • Streams responses token-by-token directly in the terminal
  • Persistent memory - powered by Mem0, past conversations are stored and injected as context automatically

🧑‍💼 Leadership (Hands-on)

  • Engineering Lead managing 10+ engineers
  • Improved team velocity by 35% by driving execution, clarity, and ownership
  • Owned product end-to-end, from roadmap → architecture → delivery → production

I’m not a “pure manager”.

  • I stay hands-on with code and system design
  • Take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
  • Unblock teams and get things shipped
  • Simplify systems and drive real impact

📈 What I’m Looking For

  • Product-focused roles
  • AI-driven or developer-first companies
  • Teams that value ownership + speed + quality

I’m open to:

  • Backend / Platform roles
  • Product engineering roles
  • Startups & mid-sized companies
