As a user of PostgresML, I'm concerned about the project's sustainability given the recent funding challenges facing the company. I'd like to hear the thoughts and insights from the core contributors and maintainers on a potential path forward.
Inspired by Apache Madlib's Experience:

Apache Madlib was already an ASF Top-Level Project before Broadcom's acquisition of VMware. However, the acquisition led to a significant decline in contributions from VMware-backed developers. The project is now gradually gaining momentum again through renewed participation from contributors in the broader PostgreSQL ecosystem.

Why This Could Be Relevant for PostgresML:

Ecosystem Synergy: Under the ASF umbrella, PostgresML could attract sustained participation and resources from the wider PostgreSQL community (such as Apache Cloudberry, various PostgreSQL vendors, and other related projects).
Long-term Sustainability: ASF's independent governance model provides institutional protection against changes driven by any single commercial entity, reducing risk for users.
Community-Driven Momentum: The ASF platform could help revitalize the project through broader community engagement and collaborative development.

I'm curious to hear your perspectives on whether donating to Apache Incubator could be a viable option for ensuring PostgresML's continued evolution. Any thoughts or suggestions?
