I have 3 agents I am working with, one is hosting the Syslog integration where I am sending my OpnSense Firewall logs to. I see the logs in the explorer, so I have live data. I found these rules that I suspect were at one point a default set of rules for UTMStack here: https://github.com/utmstack/rules

Questions.

  • Do the above mentioned rules go in /utmstack/rules on my server?
  • How should they be structured on disk?
  • How do I get UTMStack to see these rules?
  • Where in the UI do I manage these imported rules?

I am asking all of the above because I haven't found any documentation that mentions that folder specifically. I could be missing it.

Let's discuss this to make sure I understand properly.

Regards,
Jeff

Jeff - you may have figured this out by now but I'll comment here just in case (and for others in the future). On the right side of your UTMStack interface, there's a menu button of 4 lines; one of the items in that is "Manage Alerting Rules". This is where all of the rule management is done, between enabling/disabling existing rules, writing new rules, or importing rules.
