Verification Help & Guidance

Hi everyone,

Hello GitHub Education Team,

I am a master's student at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing, and my GitHub account is already verified with my official university email address.

I have attempted multiple times to apply for the GitHub Student Developer Pack. However, the system only allows camera capture instead of file upload. Unfortunately, every captured image appears blurry despite trying different devices, lighting conditions, and environments, which leads to repeated rejection.

I am fully willing to provide any required verification, including my student ID, enrollment certificate, or official documents.

Could you please assist me with manual verification or enable an alternative method (such as document upload) so I can complete my application successfully?

Thank you for your support.

Hi @AsifNRao,
The 'File Upload' option is often disabled to prevent fraudulent applications, forcing the use of a live camera capture.

Since your laptop camera is giving blurry images, try these steps:

  1. Use a Mobile Device: Log in to GitHub on your phone's browser and continue the application there. Mobile cameras are much better at focusing on text (macro shots) than webcams.
  2. Natural Lighting: Take the photo near a window during the day. Avoid using a flash or direct overhead lights as they create glare on the document.
  3. Contact Support: As community members, we cannot manually verify your status. If the camera still fails, you must reach out to GitHub Education Support for further help.

(Hope this helps! If it does, please Mark as Answer.)
