I forget its name exactly but until recently there was a little section in the left hand column of the Home page which had my recent activity, e.g. issues and PRs I'd commented on. It seems to have disappeared. Is there any way I can get it back as I found it a useful starting point?
Thanks.

You're not imagining things. GitHub recently updated the home page feed, and as part of that change, the dedicated "Recent Activity" section (sometimes called the "Activity" or "Dashboard" feed) in the left sidebar was removed for many users.

That section, which provided a quick chronological list of your own interactions (comments, new PRs, new issues, etc.), was consolidated into the main feed to create a more unified experience. The new default "For you" feed is more algorithmic and tries to show you what it thinks is most relevant, rather than just a simple timeline of your activity.

While you can't get the old sidebar section back, here are a few alternatives to find that same information:

Switch to the "Following" Feed: On the home page, you can switch from the default "For you" feed to the "Following" feed. This will show you a chronological timeline of activity from people and repositories you follow. It's less focused on your specific actions but is much closer to the old, unfiltered dashboard view.

Visit Your Own Profile Page: This is probably the best direct replacement. Your own profile page ( https://github.com/pedro-w ) has a detailed, chronological overview of all your public activity.

Check Your Notifications: For tracking conversations on specific issues and PRs you're involved in, the Notifications page is now the most direct place to go. This is where you'll see all updates and replies that you are subscribed to.

Unfortunately, there isn't a setting to revert to the old view. The best course of action is to submit feedback directly to GitHub through their official feedback channels, as they do monitor it for future product decisions.

How do I switch to this other feed? I can't find it

Incredible, they've removed the only piece of information I was actually using.
The rest of the feed is garbage.

Use this URL as a backup: https://github.com/issues/recent?q=involves%3A%40me%20updated%3A%3E%40today-1w%20sort%3Aupdated-desc

If this was intentional, I really don't see any valid reason why this would be a good choice from a UX perspective, especially when there's far less relevant information displayed on the main page. Very bad decision.

If you’re wondering why the Recent Activity sidebar on GitHub’s home page is gone, you’re not imagining things. GitHub recently updated the home page, and the dedicated sidebar showing your personal activity—comments, PRs, issues, and more—has been removed for many users.

It's gone for me as well, and I also hate it.
