I am having a notification, but cannot see it. Github shows it's from ping-plasma/plasma.to, but it's private repo and it's never was related to me. How to remove notification? Look at screenshot:

If you don't know about the repository, it was probably some scam. Even if the repo itself is legit, I've seen scam attempts where people open up new issues and tag random GitHub users. The issue/comment may have been removed since.

To remove it, you should be able to:

If it still doesn't work, try clearing cache and site data. If you're on Chrome, navigate here (just paste it in the URL field):

chrome://settings/content/all?searchSubpage=github

and click the trash icon next to GitHub. You'll have to login again and then it will hopefully have disappeared.

Let me know if it helped.

The issue is that the notification isn't showing up on the notifications list. For me, the only places I see there is a notification is with the blue badge on top the notifications icon and on the issue counts on the sidebar on the left.

chrome://settings/content/all?searchSubpage=github

I have tried clearing cache but that didn't change anything

Hi egoroof,

This can happen occasionally if a notification was triggered by something like a mention or comment, but the repository is private and you don’t have access. Since GitHub requires access to view notifications, there’s no way to open it directly.

To remove the notification:

Go to your Notifications page: https://github.com/notifications

Locate the notification in the list. Even if you can’t open it, you should see it listed.

Click the … (more) menu on the right and select Mark as read or Dismiss.

This will remove it from your notifications without requiring access to the private repository.

If the notification keeps reappearing, it might be a GitHub bug. In that case, contacting GitHub Support
is the best way to resolve it.

I have this too - there are no notifications to dismiss, even if I filter by the repo.

The pagination in the bottom right says '1-0 of 1', if that helps.
